Mining & Manufacturing

We understand commodity value chains, and have built businesses that allow us to place ourselves at key strategic intersections.

This means that IMR has deep familiarity with the challenges and opportunities present in the market, and so are best positioned to structure effective trade solutions, mirroring the dynamic requirements of the mining and manufacturing industries.

Investment Opportunities

With over 30 year’s experience in the mining and production industry, we are consistently evaluating and strategically acquiring and financing projects that strengthen our portfolio.

Stainless Steel Production Facility

PT IMR ARC Steel is located 1 hour from Juanda International Airport, Surabaya, Indonesia where the production unit manufactures high quality cold rolled stainless steel coils, slits and sheets.

The Facility has a capacity of 30,000 MT per annum, supplying 200 Series, 300 Series and 400 Series with 2B, 2BB and BA finish in 900mm wide coils at a maximum weight of 16 MT.

The Production caters to domestic and international industry segments such as Pipes, Cutlery, Utensils, Furnishing, Fabrication, Electronics, Automobiles.

Coking Coal Mine

PT Borneo Prima is located in the Murung Raya district of Central Kalimantan. It spans an area of 15,000 ha with 78.7Mio MT as JORC Reserves and 206 Mio MT identified as JORC Resources.

The mine entered Phase I of production in Q1 of 2019 with a scheduled output of 2.3Mio MT p.a.

Being inherently ultra low in phosphorous (0.005%) and low in ash (5.4%), the coal quality has been endorsed by and is acceptable to global majors including Japan’s steel manufacturing sector.

Iron Ore Mines

IMR Metallurgical Resources SA de CV operates our Iron Ore assets in Sinaloa and Michoacán. It has produced and exported 2 million MT of high grade iron ore.

Present focus is on exploring mining prospects in the Pinal and La Aventura project, located in the Michoacán state of Mexico.

Gold Mines

IMR Bonanza, with its central office in Hermosillo Sonora, focuses in the mining of precious metals. Currently, it produces Gold-Silver bars with 1000 ounces of Au and 2000 Ounces of Silver monthly from our ‘La Perla’ polymetallic mine. The mine has an extended life of 10 years and potential resources of 500,000 ounces of Gold.

Our processing and smelting plant for Doré production located in Hermosillo city processes gold adsorbed activated carbon (Semi-final product) to produce the Doré. The plant operates at 1 ton Activated Carbon capacity with 95% of efficiency. Currently, the plant processes the activated carbon from La Perla mine.

Sedibeng Iron Ore

Sedibeng Iron Ore Pty Limited is an IMR subsidiary operating close to Postmasburg in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Acquired in 2018 by IMR, the mine has been in production since 2012. The mine produces 2 million metric tons per annum, exporting medium to high grade lumps and fines (62 – 64% Fe), through the Port of Saldanha Bay utilising the much renowned OREX line. With Alumina at 2% max and Silica ranging from 5%-8%, the product continues to be well received within the Steel Industry.

In line with our philosophy, we work closely with our local communities to support them in a variety of ways appropriate to local needs. We seek to engage positively with our direct employees, and a range of stakeholders important to the local community, as we do at all IMR companies.
